Annie Lennox
| Annie Lennox was born in Aberdeen Scotland on December 25 1954. Dorothy Farquharson and Thomas Allison Lennox are her parents. Lennox had studied for three year at the Royal Academy of Music London in the 1970s, was admitted. She was able to survive with the stipend she received from her students while working part time jobs. Lennox was of the opinion that her talents aren't the same as her Royal Academy classmates. So she thought about alternative routes she could choose. Lennox began her career in the year 1976, as a member of the band Dragons Playground. However she left prior to the group's appearance on I.T.V.s talent competition New Faces. The main part of her role was the lead singer in The Tourists from 1977 until in 1980. In this band, she met Dave Stewart who would later form Eurythmics. Then, Lennox started working on her first solo album Diva which was released in the year 1992. The album had a tremendous success both commercially and critically. Nostalgia Lennoxs sixth solo album was released in October of 2014. The C.D. is a selection of Lennoxs favourite blues and soul tracks from her early years. In addition in May 2019 Lennox released Lepidoptera which is a compilation of four improvised piano tracks. The E.P. is a companion piece for her installation of art in the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art entitled"Now I'll Let You go... It is the first time she has released an independent album. Annie Lennox was born in 1954 on the 25th of December. She is a social activist, philanthropist, and singer. The Tourists gained some minor acknowledgement for their and Dave Stewart's work throughout the 1970s. The group went on through the 1980s to become the popular duo Eurythmics. Lennox began her solo musical career in 1992 through an album titled Diva. The album featured a variety of well-known songs, including the hit song Walking On Broken Glass and What's the Matter with You. Medusa the album from 1995 studio, features version covers of the songs No MoreI Love Yous or The Whiter Shade of Pale. Six solo studio albums as well as a compilation album, are to her credit. |
